About Acheron Since its founding in 1983, Acheron has developed a reputation for developing innovative and creative solutions to the most challenging engineering, environmental and geologic issues. Acheron’s staff thrives on the challenges of developing solutions to unconventional and unique issues, and always works as an aggressive client advocate. William Ball founded Acheron in 1983 and currently has over 30 years of engineering, environmental and geologic consulting experience. Mr. Ball is a registered Professional Engineer in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. During that time, he has worked in civil and sanitary engineering, hazardous waste investigation and remediation, hydraulic engineering, and hydrology. Mr. Ball was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Hydropower Subcommittee of the Land and Water Resources Council and has served as Chair of the Environmental Advisory Committee of the Northern Textile Association. Mr. Ball was also appointed by the Governor to serve on the Maine Ambient Water Toxics Advisory Committee. Mr. Ball has ultimate corporate responsibility for all Acheron project efforts and provides technical guidance and reviews of projects when appropriate. Mr. Ball has extensive experience in providing testimony before the Maine Board of Environmental Protection, Land Use Regulation Commission, and the Legislature. Mr. Ball has also provided expert testimony in both Federal and State courts on environmental cases for a variety of clients. |
